The MAC AFRIC 6.5kVA Standby Diesel Generator supplies 380V three-phase power for compatible equipment and small three-phase backup requirements. Its enclosed design helps reduce operating noise, while keyed electric starting provides convenient operation.

Powered by a 418cc diesel engine, the generator includes voltage regulation and a 22-litre fuel tank. Suitability depends on the connected equipment’s running load, starting demand and distribution across the three phases.

Load and operating guidance

Using the supplied 5kW rating, the stated limits are 2.5kW for the initial load and 3.75kW during continuous operation, shared across all three phases. Have an electrician assess phase balance and equipment startup demands.

Confirm the output and current ratings with the supplier: 7.6A per phase at 380V corresponds to approximately 5kVA, rather than the listed 6.5kVA. The stated runtime also does not align with the tank capacity and fuel consumption.

Operate outdoors, away from doors, windows and vents. The enclosure does not make indoor operation safe. Building connections require a suitable professionally installed changeover system.
